NEW BUILD: Con-ro launched

German shipbuilder Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft has launched the 210m long con-ro ship Oceanex Connaigra for St John’s, Newfoundland-based Oceanex and will deliver the vessel later this year. A service speed of 20 knots will be provided by two MAN 7L48/60 CR engines, each delivering 8,400kW. To comply with MARPOL Annex VI regulations, which come into force in 2015, the engines will be fitted with a Couple Systems dry exhaust gas cleaning system. JS
