New design: X-Bow accommodation

CASCO Offshore, a specialised accommodation subsidiary of the TMA Group, has contracted Holland’s Ulstein Sea of Solutions, part of the Ulstein Group, to design a 144.6m by 33m accommodation vessel that will be capable of housing up to 800 people.

To be named CASCO Enabler, the monohull vessel is to be delivered before the end of 2016. It will be unique among similar ships in that it will have separated areas for accommodation, common spaces and work areas, and will feature an internal atrium that will provide daylight to interior cabins. It will have a free-standing funnel completely removed from the accommodation area to reduce noise. For rig access it will be equipped with a telescopic gangway. JS
