New tug built by Damen delivered to Brazil

The SST-Aruá is the second tug to be delivered to SAAM SMIT Towage Brazil by Wilson Sons shipyard and is part of a total order of four Vessels. The first of the series, the SST-Aimoré, was delivered in June this year.

The SST-Aruá was designed by Damen Shipyards and was built in Guarujá. The tug measures 24m by 11m and has a bollard pull of 71 tonnes.

Apart from these two deliveries in 2017, Wilson Sons shipyard has another four tugs on their order books for delivery up until 2019. These are two tugs for SAAM SMIT and another two for Wilson Sons Rebocadores.
