Norbank makes her maiden port call to Tilbury in Essex for berthing trials

P&O 1993-built ro-ro ferry Norbank made her maiden port call to Tilbury 2 in Essex to undergo berthing trials on 4 January 2024.

If successful, a new P&O service will run from Tilbury 2 on the River Thames too Rotterdam.

Norbank made her final departure from the Dublin-Liverpool service on 20 December 2023, with P&O closing its Irish Sea service and withdrawing both Norbank and her sistership Norbay.

Bad weather on Norbank’s final crossing to the Mersey meant she was late to lock in at Liverpool and the last scheduled sailing on 21 December cancelled.

Norbank will be used to cover ships on Europoort routes undergoing routine drydocking until the mid February.
