PLATFORM SUPPLY: World Diamond delivered

Damen Shipyards Galati has delivered World Diamond June, the first of six Platform Supply Vessels for Norwegian offshore owner World Wide Supply, built to an entirely new Damen design. World Diamond was christened by godmother HRH Crown Princess Margarita of Romania on 28 June in a yard ceremony.‘Delivery of this first PSV 3300 represents a new era in Damen’s continuing offshore supply vessel story,’ said Arnout Damen. World Diamond is a mid-size PSV capable of worldwide operations and is intended to meet future demand in the competitive PSV market.

World Diamond measures 80.1m in length and has a deck load of 1,500 tonnes. She will transport crew and materials to and from offshore platforms, and will also offer fire-fighting and oil pollution recovery. Equipped with azimuth thrusters and dynamic positioning (DP2), the PSV 3300 design’s slender hull lines are intended to minimise fuel consumption as well as provide enhanced crew comfort.
