Queen Mary 2 Receives new Staterooms

A week into her significant remastering at the Blohm & Voss Shipyard in Hamburg, Queen Mary 2 has received the first sections that will contain 35 additional staterooms on her top deck.

Elsewhere an additional 15 single cabins and 12 kennels are being fitted while the flagship of the British Merchant Marine is refurbished from bow-to-stern.

Queen Mary 2 will return to Southampton on 23 June before departing later that day on an Atlantic crossing to New York, the service for which this, the only liner on the world, was built for.

With the retirement of Queen Elizabeth 2 in 2008, Queen Mary 2 became the only transatlantic ocean liner in line service between Southampton and New York, which operates for part of each year. The ship is also used for cruising, including an annual world cruise.
