ROYAL FLEET AUX: RFA underpins exercise

The Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) stores ship Fort Rosalie replenished the assault ship HMS Albion and the Navy’s largest warship, helicopter carrier HMS Ocean, in the Mediterranean in May during Exercise Cypriot Lion, which combined air defence exercises and live firings at sea with amphibious training in coastal waters involving 40 Commando Royal Marines.

The two week exercise included 25 Replenishment at Sea (RAS) operations, of which 13 were for liquids (diesel, aviation fuel and fresh water), and a further 12 for dry stores, with a total of 232 pallets of food and other goods.
