Sovcomflot builds its fleet

Russia’s Sovcomflot has taken delivery of the 174,000 cubic metre capacity LNG carrier SCF La Perouse from South Korea’s Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries for operation under a long-term time charter agreement with French energy major Total.

The new vessel features a slow-speed dual-fuel X-DF engine and is to be followed by two more sister ships using the same powerplant. Their delivery will bring the Sovcomflot fleet to over 150 vessels with a combined deadweight of more than 12.8 million tonnes. JS
