CRUISE SHIP: ‘The Love Boat’ To Be Scrapped

For those of you who can remember this far back, the iconic cruise ship that served as the model for the popular TV series “The Love Boat” may be scrapped according to reports. The LA Times says the ship, The Pacific Princess, has been left in an Italian port for over a year after its owners didn’t pay for asbestos removal and updating.

It seems the ship, which featured in the show’s opening credits, has now been sold for $3.3 million to a Turkish company that’s known for demolishing ships.

‘The Love Boat’ ran from 1977 to 1986, while the ship was built in 1971.
