X-Press Feeders adding a port to container service between Germany and Sweden

X-Press Feeders is adding a port to their container service between Germany and Sweden – Germany Sweden Express (GSX), and Copenhagen Malmö Port, CMP, becomes part of the route. The first container ship arrived at Norra Hamnen in Malmö on 3 October 2023.

X-Press Feeders’ route is operated by the container ship Anna G and calls Malmö on a weekly basis. The ship sails from Hamburg to Malmö and then on to Åhus, Södertälje, and then back to Hamburg again.

The fact that X-Press Feeders has chosen Malmö as a permanent destination on its new route not only strengthens CMP’s position as a logistics hub, but also increases options for the business community in the region to import and export goods to and from Sweden by sea.

“X-Press Feeders are always open for new business proposals and our lean, independent structure allows us to react swiftly to markets’ demand.

“When we were approached for the call into Malmö, the decision was taken quickly. The service, open to all lines and NVOCC* with shippers’ own containers, offers a fast and reliable solution into Malmö and Skåne”, says Sven Siemsen, Senior Manager Marketing Europe at X-Press Feeders, based in Hamburg.

“We look forward to our collaboration with X-Press Feeders, which also creates new opportunities for other customers and partners. Malmö has a great strategic location both for transport to and from Europe and as a regional hub with short local transport links.

“We can offer pure intermodal solutions with large areas for transhipments to trains and road networks. This provides scope for both efficient handling and flexible solutions”, says Ann-Charlotte Halldén Åkeson, Sales Director, Copenhagen Malmö Port.
