Quantum Of The Seas: 2 – day one on this $1 billion state of the art mega ship

Last week we were invited on board the incredible new Quantum of the Seas cruise liner (sister ship of the Anthem Of The Seas) for a 2 day shake-down excursion around the coastline. And we got to visit the bridge to talk to the captain directly during the journey! The ship is packed with new technology, from the snazzy kerb side check in with tablet computers, RFID luggage tracking and barcodes, to the floor to ceiling 4K LCD screens which act as virtual balconies, to deliver real time video of the sea views to inner cabins which don’t have a real window.

We expected to be wowed, but we didn’t expect to be so impressed with the sheer scale of the ship and it’s systems, and our first impression of the whole Quantum experience was really good. This is an amazing ship in a large number of ways.
