Varsovia wins the ro-pax of the year award

At the European Ferry Shipping Summit 2024 held in Athens in November, prizes and awards were given out to the maritime industry. The Summit aims to support the development of ferry operators and ports.

This year, the Polish ferry Varsovia was given the ‘RoPax of the Year 2024’ award in recognition of its position as the largest and most modern ro-pax in the Baltic.

Varsovia is the newest vessel in the Polish Baltic Shipping fleet, and was completed at the Cantiere Navale Visentini shipyard in Italy. Since July 2024 she has been operating on the Swinoujscie-Ystad route.

The ship measures 216.2m by 28.2m, with a draught of 6.7m and a deadweight of 9,386 tonnes. She has a total power output of 23,160kW. She can carry up to 976 passengers and has 230 cabins, with 2,875 lane metres plus 200 passenger cars.
