Stolt adds tankers to fleet

Stolt Tankers’ joint venture in China, Shanghai SC-Stolt Shipping Ltd (SSCSSL), has contracted Chinese shipbuilder Wuchang Shipyard to construct two 9,200dwt chemical tankers for delivery in 2024 and 2025. Handover of the twin vessels will bring SSCSSL’s fleet up to 11 ships.

At the same time, Stolt itself is acquiring two 15,000dwt second-hand stainless steel chemical tankers built in 2018 and 2019 that will be renamed Stolt Condor and Stolt Tucan for employment in its Inter-Caribbean service, additions that will bring the combined Stolt Tankers fleet up to 168 ships.

Established by Jacob Stolt-Nielsen in 1959, Stolt is celebrating 64 years of operations. JS
