CABLE LAYER: Oriental passage on offer

Japan’s NYK Line does not normally accommodate passengers on its container ships, but when the ship is being chartered from another company this policy is changed. The 53,700dwt NYK Galaxy, currently operating between Japan, Australia and New Zealand under the management of Germany’s NSB, is accommodating seven passengers in one Owner’s suite, two double cabins and a single cabin on her 32-day rotation via Brisbane, Auckland, Lyttelton, Napier, Tauranga, Tokyo, Kobe, Pusan, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Fares are €85 per day for the single cabin or per person per day for the doubles, and €95 per person per day for the Owner’s suite. Sole occupancy of a double is €110 per day and the Owners suite €110 per day. The 2006-built vessel is equipped with an elevator and indoor pool, as well as passenger lounge and TV room.
